Decision intelligence for commercial fleets.

The problem

Fleet decisions are made with partial information. Driver hours, vehicle state, charge or fuel, route history and job economics live in separate systems, so operators answer the hard questions from memory.

Why it matters

A missed job, an unnecessary charging stop or a vehicle sent that couldn't finish costs an operator real money every day. The information needed to avoid it already exists — it just sits in six systems that don't talk.

What we built

A decision layer for transport operators. One Fleet takes a job and answers it: can we do it, what should it cost, which vehicle, which route, and when to leave. Each answer carries the evidence behind it, and the outcome feeds back in.

Where it is now

In production test with a live fleet. Not publicly linked while the first operator runs on it.

From operating vehicles to imagining better ones

Anonymised operational observations from One Fleet help inform independent commercial-vehicle research at Quinn Labs.

Looking for

  • Fleet operators willing to run a pilot
  • Telematics partners
  • Energy and charging data

Latest progress

  • Now

Running inside a live fleet. Feasibility, pricing and timing answered per job.

  • Next

Outcome learning: comparing what was predicted against what actually happened.

Questions it answers

  • Can I do this job?
  • Should I charge?
  • Which vehicle?
  • Which route?
  • Should I leave now?

Research question

Can a depot decide better than instinct?

Why this matters

Fleet work is priced and scheduled from memory. A wrong yes costs a day, a vehicle and a customer — and nobody finds out until it is too late to change the answer.

Current progress

Pilot — running inside a live fleet, measured against what actually happened.

Workflow

Pilot

Running inside a live fleet today.

How it could work

Problem

A job arrives. Nobody can say for certain whether it is possible or profitable.

Current world

Six systems, one spreadsheet and a phone call. The answer is a guess made in ninety seconds.

Quinn Labs idea

One decision layer that answers feasibility, price, vehicle, route and departure — and shows its working.

Potential future

Depots that schedule themselves around energy price, battery health and tomorrow's work.

Note

Ninety seconds

Operators decide in about ninety seconds. Anything slower than that gets ignored, however accurate it is.

Test

Predicted vs actual

Every answer is logged against what really happened. The gap is the product.

Reading

Depot energy pricing

Half-hourly tariffs change the answer more than route optimisation does.

Open questions

  • Whose charger?

When two vehicles need the same charger, who decides — and can the reason be explained in one line?
